THE HIDDEN HORRORS BEHIND THE NATION-STATE’S CHURCH
In the ‘vision spaces’ The Group are exposed to the spiritual powers, the dark demons that order and control their social reality.
When members of The Group enter this space, they appear as their attributes, pictorial symbols of their character, their spiritual gifts if you will. Similar to Renaissance paintings where saints may have an attribute associated with their story of , well, usually Martyrdom.
The attributes are as follows:
Strix – Owl
Falco – Falcon
Calvin – projection of living images (unusual, huh?)
Kristina – light and salt
Zip – Code and coded devices
T_m – Eagle
D_m - Eagle
Izzy – Wind
Jess – Mirror
Jack – Shadow
Who would’ve expected to find the Gates of Hell in a Crypt beneath the Nave of a Cathedral? Here a sculptural relief, of bestial demons greets Kristina who has ventured there alone. They are moving sculptures, animated by their love of abusing women and children. But there is worse to come, once the Gates open a little wider.
This of course is no ordinary church, as it is run by the State, for the State. If you are looking for justice, mercy or humility here, then you will not find it.
Above, in the Nave an Owl confronts an old Priest who warns him that it is against ‘scripture’ if he resists the Power of the State. The conversation is barbed, but Strix won’t succumb to the Priest’s rebukes. He is then aided by a Falcon and as the scene continues, they hear a noise, a high-pitched sound as a colony of vampire bats fly along the Nave towards them.
The Priest becomes more irritated with Strix and turns into a bat and flies up the Nave towards the altar with the rest of the colony. Strix and Falco, the Owl and the Falcon follow the horde and are appalled to see that above the altar there is a huge crucifix, and on it the colony has attached itself to the body of Christ and are gorging themselves with his blood.
If these are scenes that will turn your stomach, then beware because there’s more to come, as The Group venture further into the ‘vision space’ and uncover more horrors that will have dire consequences for this community of friends.
